The Department of Biological Sciences is one of the oldest and in fact largest Department in the Faculty of Science in terms of resources at inception. It was founded in 2012 shortly after the inception of the University in 2011 as one of the pioneer Departments.  The Department started academic programs with 28 students and eight academic staff, three technologies and a secretary

 Mission Statement

The Department embraces and integrates all aspects of the life sciences and related teaching, research, and educational outreach, develops and delivers an effective, modern curriculum for undergraduate majors in Biological Science, contributes to knowledge and societal development through faculty and student research, and service learning, and establishes a departmental environment grounded in open and honest communication, mutual support, recognition of diverse individual contributions, and trust.

 Vision Statement

To develop a platform of innovative and effective approaches that integrate scholarship with multi-disciplinary research, and provide campus-wide leadership in the integration of life sciences.
