DR. ABU YUSUFU

Dr. Abu Yufusu, is the serving librarian, Federal University Kashere.

Little Yusufu was born in Angwa, Ankpa Local Government of Kogi State.

He started his primary education in St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Samaru – Zaria. He had no secondary education, but determination to improve and better his life saw master Yusufu, enrolling for the General Certificate in Education (G.C.E), from home where he came out with flying colours that secured him admission into Tertiary Institution.

He further proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (A.B.U), where he obtained a Diploma in Library Science in 1988; Bachelor of Library Science in 1988; Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS), in 1997; Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS), in 2004 and a Ph.D in Library and Information Science in 2013 all in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He was a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Library and Information Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and fully engaged himself in academic teaching and supervision of postgraduate students of A.B.U from 2005 to 2006 until the time of his appointment as the University Librarian.

He has some Journals, Books, Conference Papers and proceeding Publications credited to him.

He loves sports and reading. He is a registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LCRN); Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN); Nigerian Library Association (NLA) as part of his achievements and holds certificates of workshops attended among others.

Dr. Abu Yusufu loves Community Service as well. He has served in many committees, such as: member/Representative ASUU Electoral Committee, A.B.U, Zaria; University Congregational Senate Representative of the Faculty of Education from 2007 to 2009 and Faculty Representative of A.B.U. Zaria Library Committee from 2010 to 2012.

Currently, as a principal officer of the University, he is an automatic member of the University Senate and Management Committee and many other privileged committees/meetings he has served in. One of such privileged meetings he had been in – attendance include: the university Governing Council Meeting.

He is happily married with Children.
